Apple has finally updated its iPod Touch lineup. The latest model comes with the support of the Augmented Reality app and Group Facetime. There is also a 256GB version.
Apple started the new iPod Touch at 18,900 on Tuesday. The new iPod Touch is available in two more variants, 128GB and 256GB – respectively Rs 28,900 and Rs 38,900.
The latest generation iPod Touch comes with an Apple-designed A10 Fusion Chipset that is asked to give better gaming performance. The chipset also paved the way for enhanced reality-based applications on iPod touch. Apple says that the new iPod supports all the latest AR-based games, educational apps, and even web browsing.
Another new feature of the new iPod Touch is the FaceTime, which encourages users to make video calls with multiple friends at the same time.
“We’re making even the cheapest iOS device even better with performance, which is twice as big as before, Group Facetime and augmented reality that starts from just $ 199,” said Apple Greg Joswick, Vice President of Product Marketing. “The ultra-thin and lightweight design of the iPod Touch has always made it ideal for enjoying sports, music and wherever you go.”
Apple last updated its iPod Touch lineup in 2015. The series was deemed almost dead because Apple shifted its focus to iPhones. According to TechCrunch, the latest iPod Touch has not recently come with some Apple features like Face ID or Touch ID. However, the new iPod Touch retains the 3.5mm headphone jack.
